Mongenevre

Mongenevre is the only French resort in the Milky Way ski area. It also boasts the best snow record in the Milky Way. The resort lies on the French-Italian border and it is easy to ski across the border into the resort of Claviere. Heading further across to Sauze D'Oulx and Sestriere is possible but will require a bit of planning and time keeping to make it there and back in a day.

Although it is part of the Milky Way, this is France. This means the lifts are newer and more effeciently run. There is a board park and half pipe. It also means there are more people, so more queues. The mountain restaurants don't quite have the charm as those over the border and the prices seem that little bit higher.

Mongenevre is a well run resort with a wide variety of accommodation available and plenty of chalets, which are lacking in Italy. The nighlife focuses around a couple of bars in the centre of town, which has benefitted from the recently added underpass, which keeps most of the traffic out of the resort.
