Courmayeur

A popular resort with the rich and famous from Milan, the resort oozes a certain class. The bars and restaurants are certainly of a higher standard than many Italian resorts. Also with the continental flavour of the tourists; Dutch, Swedish, French, Italians, Irish and Brits, no one nationality can lay claim so everyone gets along in harmony.

 The ski area is okay but if you want to push yourself then you need to be able to do off piste and ski down the Vallee Blanche to Chamonix. As with several resorts in the Aosta valley, you'll also see the Interski groups blasting around the mountain.

 We recommend:

 Bar Roma - apres ski at it's coolest, get there off the mountain for the free food and later for the cosmopolitan experience
