AC Milan

AC Milan are one of the greatest teams in European and Italian football history. They have had eras of complete dominance in the European and domestic competitions. In recent years they have been an unbelievable force in the Champions League, reaching the final three since 2003 and winning twice, once against arch rivals Juventus and once against Liverpool, which removed the pain of their self destruction against them in 2005.

Milan's fans are some of the most passionate in the world and create an amazing atmosphere in the San Siro whether it's an early round of the Coppa Italia, a derby in the league against Inter, or if it's a great night of European football.

In recent years they have, however, failed to inspire in the Serie A. Last year they failed to qualify for the Champions League after a mediocre patch mid season. This means they are playing in the UEFA Cup this year. Without the pressure of the Champions League they seem to have improved in the league and the manager has managed to gel their mixed team.

The biggest news of Milan's summer was the signing of Ronaldinho. He has inspired the team and seemed to refind his Barcelona form of the 2005/06 season.

This winter is even more exciting with the news that David Beckham has signed on loan for 3 months to improve his fitness and get back into the England team.

Things certainly seem to be moving in the right direction for Milan this year. You would have to fancy them to reach the latter stages of the UEFA Cup, and I would predict a top two finish in the league.
