AC Milan vs Manchester United

This is probably the pick of the last 16 ties in the Champions League. Before the draw, both clubs would have been hoping to avoid each other until later in the competition. However, now it has been decided, the managers, players and fans will relish this huge European night and spectacle.

European clubs and success, in recent years, has often been measured against the achievement of these two teams. In the last 10 years they have each won the Champions League twice. AC Milan winning in 2003 and 2007, while Manchester United won in 1999 and 2008.

This tie also sees David Beckham play against his former side and manager for the first time. It will be an emotional night for him, both at the San Siro, and also Old Trafford. He is sure to rise to the big occasion and will be keen to show the English public that he is worthy of a place in the squad for the Fifa World Cup in South Africa.

United have beaten Italian opposition five of the last seven occasions they have met in the Champions League knock out stages. However, the two times they have been beaten, it was by AC Milan - 2-0 on aggregate in 2005, and 5-3 on aggregate in the semi final stage in 2007.

This will be a sell out at the San Siro in Milan and a night of European dreams for both teams and the fans.

With the new ticketing regulations in place it will be down to AC Milan, the Italian FA and UEFA as to how many tickets we are able to obtain.
